Good grief, it's been a great summer--and now school is back in session. Hope you all have a GREAT 2010-2011 school year. My prayer for you this school year is that you grow in knowledge of the world and of the Spirit...that you grow in your faith and your trust in God...and that you go do something cool for Him every single day.
Thanks to all of you--the absolute coolest students on the planet. You are way awesome, more inspiring than you even know, and a ton of fun. Thanks for just being you.

Important Note: Due to Mike going to Haiti with the HighPoint Team, we are getting a slower start than normal as we ramp up for the new school year. Please be patient. We would much rather take the time to prepare our leaders and lessons the right way rather than rush in just to get everything started. Listed below are some important dates you need to know.

ECLIPSE!
Viewing a total solar eclipse is an
extremely rare opportunity!
If Jesus does not return sometime in
the next 14 years, this will be a
seriously-cool HighPointYouthAlumni
event.
If Jesus DOES return sometime in the next 14 years, I'm pretty sure His Returning will be an even-cooler ChristianAlumni event! :)
This total solar eclipse will last almost four minutes and will hit our area directly.

Imagine where you will be and what you will be like in 14 years:
--How old will you be?
--Where will you live?
--What will you be doing?
--What will you be like?
--How many kids will you have & will they look like you?
--Will Mike be in a nursing home yet & will you visit him?

The hardest step to getting connected is taking the first one...showing up at your first HighPointYouth event where you feel you won't know anybody.
But it takes just a few times of showing up before you feel like this is your youth ministry...your place...your church.
You'll feel like this because the atmosphere at HighPointYouth is awesome.
The students are welcoming because they've walked that "new" path and were welcomed well themselves. And soon, you'll be the one welcoming others to a place where you can just be yourself...a place that will introduce you to faith in Jesus, get you closer to God, and introduce you to some of the truest friends you'll ever have.
The only thing we ask is--when you show up--just relax and be yourself.
You don't have to ask for permission to go to the bathroom & you don't have to turn off your cell phone (though we will ask you to silence it).
